I installed the IDE on the new computer and I get the following error which you must be getting too? sketch_apr07a:76: error: 'SendOnlySoftwareSerial' does not name a type sketch_apr07a.ino: In function 'void setup()': sketch_apr07a:88: error: 'ExternalSerial' was not declared in this scope sketch_apr07a.ino: In function 'void loop()': sketch_apr07a:213: error: 'ExternalSerial' was not declared in this scope It is telling me that it doesn't recognize anything to do with SendOnlySoftwareSerial.h so that mustn't be a standard library. If you click this link it will download the library you're missing gammon.com.au/Arduino/SendOnlySoftwareSerial.zipYou should save it in the Arduino->libraries folder in your my documents. Then open the Arduino IDE and go to Sketch->Import Library->Add Library and select the zip folder you downloaded. It should work then provided that is the problem you're having

if it is any help, this is the error message that I'm getting
Arduino: 1.6.3 (Mac OS X), Board: "Arduino Uno"
generic_tractor_code___.ino:74:103: fatal error: SendOnlySoftwareSerial.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. Error compiling.
This report would have more information with "Show verbose output during compilation" enabled in File > Preferences.

Great glad you got it working, was it the library that done it? I was using a windows operating system and it looks like you're working with mac OS, is there a trick for mac OS?

Not at all, thanks for asking your questions here. If others run into the same problems hopefully they'll find the answer here, it's hard for me to spot things like this as I installed a lot of libraries over the years to test different things.
