Just starting this post to let people introduce themselves and let us know what kind of radio controlled vehicles they are creating.
I'm an engineering student from Ireland and I've mostly been working on creating a radio controlled tractor so far. The model I'm using is a SIKU Massey 8680, I used servos for drive and steering, I added LED lights and a XBEE radio transceiver all controlled by a PIC 16F627.
I've started work on a tip trailer as well as turning a ROS Hitachi 210 into an rc model so I've plenty to keep me busy.

Hi Karlos, I know what you mean, especially if you are trying for a smaller sized model such as the 1:32 scale I like to use. Hopefully we'll be able to help you out

Hello,
I see all of these YouTube videos of rc tractors and want to build some of my own with the working bucket. Any help about how you would do this would be great. I have been on siku's website but was more confused when I left then before I went on. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I live in the us.
Thanks!

Hi Thomas,
Welcome to the forum, I should have read this before I wrote that big reply to your bluetooth question. I'd since you've already built 1:16 scale models you know what you're at when it comes to drive and steering.

Hi to all I am a retired Development Engineer with a long association with model engineering having tried most things. However I have recently become hooked by the challenge converting Die Cast models into RC ,in particular ,my attraction to modern tractors. So I've got my new John Deere, the benches have been cleared in my workshop , I guess I'm ready to go !!! But I expect I will have many questions along the way . Regards Barrie.

Hi Barrie,
Welcome to the our forum. It sounds like you have plenty of experience with model making, I'd say you'll have picked up a few tricks that will make the RC tractor build easier for you. Good luck with your conversion.

I want to convert a 1/16 case quad track but not sure what gearboxes and motors to use or how to do the steering on it I would like to drive front and back tracks to give it plenty of power and traction any help on this would be appreciated Ron

Hi Ron, Nice model idea. I don't know the actual dimensions you have to work with as I've never tried a 1:16 model but I think the steering shouldn't be too bad as you could probably fit a standard servo into it and just pick one that is the best trade off between torque and price for you. The drive might be difficult but most 1:16 tractors I've seen on the web have use 1:16 or 1:14 tamiya truck parts. If you search " 1:16 tamiya truck axle" you'll see some axles with differentials and then to get four wheel drive there are transfer boxes and adjustable drive shafts to connect it all. That said I've never done it myself so not sure how difficult it would actually be or how hard it is to fit all those parts into the model.
